FAQ
From signing up to playing to creating, here are the questions we hear most often. Tap a question to open it. If you cannot find your answer, please visit the contact page.
Getting started
What is AllureInn AI?
A platform for AI role-play interactive fiction you can play on your phone. Pick a story and a character, and the AI writes the story around your actions.
Beyond playing, you can also create and publish your own stories for others to play.
How do I sign up and log in?
Sign up with an email address (or a username you choose) and a password, or log in directly with your Google account. After logging in, you can add fingerprint or face login under “Me → Settings”.
You can browse stories without logging in, although some content, such as covers, only shows in full after you log in. New accounts are sometimes reviewed before every feature opens up.
If you forget your password, choose “Forgot password” on the login page and we will send a reset link, valid for 30 minutes, to the email you signed up with.
Is there an age limit?
Yes. The site is for adults and you must be at least 18. You will be asked to confirm the first time you visit.
The stories, pictures, and videos on the site are all AI-generated fiction.
Do I need to download an app? Can I continue on another phone?
No. Open it in your phone or computer browser and play. You can also “Add to Home Screen” to install it like an app, then open it with one tap.
Your conversations and progress are stored on the site, so log in to the same account on another phone or computer and carry on where you left off.
Which languages are supported?
The interface comes in Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, and you can switch at any time.
The language of each story is up to its author, and some stories come in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
How do I find a story to play? Can I chat with other players?
Open “Explore” to browse: there are tabs such as Recommended, Sections, and Daily, Weekly, and Monthly rankings, and you can search by keyword or tag (Traditional and Simplified Chinese both work).
Save what you like with “Favorites” or “Wishlist”. If there are topics you would rather not see, add them to “Muted tags” under “Me → Settings”.
If you want to chat, the site also has a forum, chat rooms, and a comment section on each story.
How to play
Where do I start the first time?
Pick a story in “Explore”, read its page, choose a model, and press “▶ Start”. Some stories first ask you to set a name or background, or to pick an opening.
Every time you press “Start” you begin a new “playthrough”. One story can have several playthroughs, and their progress is independent. Switch, rename, or delete them from the playthrough list under ☰ at the top right of the play screen.
The in-app “Player Classroom” has 6 short lessons and takes about 6 minutes.
How do the choices work?
Each reply ends with a few choices. Tap one to add it to the input box (tap again to remove it). You can tap several, reorder them, tweak the details, and then send, or press the “➤” beside a choice to send it right away.
You never have to pick one: you can always type what you want to say or do yourself.
You can change how many choices appear, and how they are laid out, under ☰ → “Choices”.
What is the Memory Book? Will the AI forget things in a long story?
However long a story runs, there is a limit to how much the AI can read at once, so the site keeps a “Memory Book”. About every 10 turns it sorts things out in the background, noting how relationships between characters have changed, the important choices you made, and chapter summaries. Later replies draw on it, so the story stays connected.
Open “Memory” above the input box to see what was recorded. You can pin, edit, or delete important entries yourself.
Memory is on by default. You can change its depth or turn it off in the “Memory” panel. The usage for organizing memory counts toward your points.
Can I redo a reply I did not like, or a choice I regret?
Yes. Each reply has buttons underneath:
- “Regenerate”: ask the AI to rewrite the same turn (available on the latest reply).
- “⋯ More”: edit the reply, start a “Branch” from this reply (a new playthrough, leaving the original untouched), or “Rewind” to this reply and carry on from there.
To share a great moment with a friend, use “Share save”. They can start a new playthrough from that point.
What are the map and character tracking?
Some stories come with a map. Open “Map” on the play screen to see where you are, the places in the story, and where each character is right now. Tap a place and “Go here” is filled into the input box.
With “Character tracking” on, the AI also remembers who is where, so the same person usually does not appear in two places at once. To meet someone, go where she is.
Stories without a map do not show this feature, and play is unaffected.
Can I change the text size and layout? What if someone walks by?
Yes. On the play screen, go to ☰ at the top right → “Reading & layout” to change text size, line spacing, font (sans-serif, serif, Kai, or rounded), background, and dialogue box tint. You can also switch between the “Chat” and “Visual novel” layouts.
If someone walks by, press “Hide story images” (the eye icon at the top right of the site, or inside the ☰ menu on the play screen). All pictures and videos in stories are replaced with blank panels and are not even downloaded. Press it again to restore them.
Models
Can I choose the model?
Yes. Switch among DeepSeek, Gemini, Grok, ChatGPT, GLM, and other leading models. In the model picker on the story page and the play screen, each model shows a price factor and its recent reply success rate, along with feature tags from our weekly tests.
Models differ in style, speed, and cost, so the same story feels different with a different model. Subscribers can also use our platform-hosted models.
I do not know which model to pick.
Let us recommend one. The “Suggested models” section on the story page lists the top three for that story, and one tap switches. The model picker also has “Switch to a recommended model” at the bottom. Recommendations come from the story’s recent reply success rate, how well each model fits its themes, and our weekly tests, and the author may also mark models they recommend.
To save points, pick a model marked as economy. For a finer touch of prose, pick a more premium one.
The AI stopped early, went off track, or showed an error. What now?
- Try “Regenerate” first. If it still is not right, use “Switch to a recommended model” in the model picker, or try a model with a higher success rate.
- Models sometimes dodge or decline. If you were charged extra for that turn, press “Refused” to request a refund (see “Points and costs”).
- If a model is temporarily unreachable, the system switches to a backup model automatically and marks the reply.
- A turn that produced nothing because of a system error is not charged. If you see an error you do not understand, take a screenshot, note which model it was, and tell us through “Me → Contact the owner”.
Points and costs
Does it cost anything? How are points calculated?
You can sign up, browse, and try it first. Playing, drawing, and other features are measured in “points”: each turn is priced by the model usage that turn actually took, so a longer script and a more premium model use more.
Every turn shows “This turn: X points” underneath, with a breakdown when you tap it, and the story page tells you roughly what each turn costs before you start.
Some features, such as our platform-hosted models, are for subscribers. Contents and prices are as shown in the in-app shop.
Why is the first turn more expensive?
On the first turn of every new playthrough, the model has to read the whole script (rules, characters, world) from scratch, with nothing cached yet, so usage is highest. From the second turn on, the parts that have not changed are mostly served from the model provider’s cache, and the points drop clearly.
After a long break the cache expires, so the turn you come back to costs a little more. The longer the story, the bigger the difference on the first turn.
How can I make my points last longer?
- Pick a model marked as economy.
- Choose lighter stories (the story page marks them light, medium, heavy, or extra heavy).
- Adjust the depth in the “Memory” panel, or lower “Recent messages kept” under ☰ → “Model parameters”.
- Make use of the daily level discount and reroll vouchers (see the next questions).
- Playing in one stretch makes the cache easier to hit than coming back after a long gap.
How do I get points?
Common sources include top-ups, the points subscribers receive every day, daily draws and event rewards, inviting friends to play, and creators’ story income. Which of these are open, and how each works, is as described under “My points” and in the shop in the app.
Points you buy never expire. Gifted points expire as described when they were given.
What are daily check-ins and tavern tickets?
Check in each day to get tavern tickets, with a bonus once your check-in days for the month reach certain counts. Tavern tickets never expire, and you can exchange them in the shop’s “Tavern ticket exchange” for items such as reroll vouchers. They cannot be turned into points or given to others.
Whether check-in and exchange are open to you yet depends on whether “Daily check-in” appears in the left-hand menu.
What are levels, and what do they give me?
Logging in each day, leaving comments and reviews, posting, and similar activity earn experience and raise your level. The level card on the “Me” page shows your progress and site-wide rank.
From Lv5, some turns each day get 50% off. The number grows with your level, and each story has its own allowance. The discount is applied automatically, and a “Level discount” label appears under the reply. A higher level also gives you more “Refused” requests per day.
What are reroll vouchers?
A reroll voucher covers the points for one “Regenerate”. When you regenerate, the system asks whether to use a voucher or be charged as usual. The voucher is used only if the turn is written successfully, never on an error. They work on every story and every model.
You can exchange tavern tickets for vouchers, and they may also come from draws and event rewards. See “Me → My inventory” for your count and expiry dates.
Am I charged if a turn gets blocked by the model, or errors out?
A turn that produced nothing because of an error is not charged.
If the model replied with a dodge or a refusal, press “Refused” on that reply: that turn is charged only at actual cost, and the extra amount is refunded. You get 5 requests per month, and from Lv5 a few more each day.
What are Medals, and how do I earn them?
Medals are keepsakes you earn by doing something, such as playing many turns, writing a popular story, replying helpfully in the community, or checking in every day.
Most Medals come in Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers, and a few also have a Jade tier. When you reach a new tier, most Medals also come with a small gift (usually tavern tickets, sometimes a reroll voucher, an AI Director reading voucher, points, or experience).
Check your collection under “Me → Medals”, and pick up to 3 to show next to your name. If you would rather keep them private, turn off “Show my medals” in the “Display settings” section on the Medals page.
Subscribers
What can subscribers do?
Subscribers can use the equipment we run ourselves: our self-hosted language models, self-hosted image generation, short videos, voice-over, and audio dramas. You also receive points every day, and get priority when self-hosted features have a queue.
Plan contents, prices, and the number of places are as shown on the “Subscription” page of the in-app shop.
Are there usage limits? What if all places are taken?
To keep things smooth for everyone, self-hosted image generation, short videos, voice-over, and audio dramas each have a daily limit that resets at 00:00 Taiwan time. When you reach it, switch to a cloud service or come back the next day.
Subscriptions have a limited number of places. When they are full, you can join a waitlist, and we notify you in order when a place opens, holding it for a while so you can decide.
How do I renew or cancel?
On the subscriber card on the “Me” page, you can turn auto-renew on or off and end your subscription. After you cancel, you can use the service until the current period ends.
If a renewal payment fails, there is a 3-day grace period during which you can still use the service and pay again. After it ends, your membership and place are released. Some payment methods do not support automatic payments. Those are single-period purchases, and we remind you before they end.
Creating
Can I create a story? How do I start?
Yes. Go to “Create”, press “New story”, choose whether to make a character card or a story card, then follow the steps: basic settings, characters and background, extras, and save and publish.
No coding needed. If you already have a rulebook or character settings, paste them in with “Paste the whole story document” or “Paste character sheets”. If you would rather start from scratch, “AI writing” can draft something for you first.
The in-app “Creator Classroom” has 8 lessons, one idea each, with illustrations, so you can follow along and get started.
What is the difference between a story card and a character card?
- Character card: the author sets up the protagonist and characters, and the player just picks an opening to play.
- Story card: players can decide their name, background, route, and more at the start, and those choices really change how the story goes.
The site tells them apart automatically from the start setup. On the Explore page you can switch between story cards and character cards, and filter by length (light, medium, heavy, extra heavy).
What are the Lorebook, the status panel, and the map?
These are advanced building blocks. All are optional, and you can publish a story without them:
- Lorebook: sends a setting to the AI only when the player mentions its keyword, so even a lot of settings do not take up space every turn.
- Status panel: shows values such as affection, money, or stamina on the play screen, and the AI updates them by your rules each turn.
- Map and factions: draw places and who lives where, and players can tap the map to go there.
There are also start settings, character sprites and expressions, opening animations, and visual themes.
Can the AI help me write?
Yes. The creation page has several kinds of AI help: “AI writing” fills the empty fields from a few lines of description; the “AI draft” beside a field fills in character details; the Lorebook helper suggests which settings belong in the Lorebook; and “AI character art” makes a portrait for a character.
What the AI writes is only a draft. It is added to your story only after you tick it, and you can edit it freely. These AI helpers count toward your points by actual usage.
How do I publish a story? Can I try it first?
The “Preview” button in the top bar of the creation page lets you play it yourself first, and only you can see the story until it is published. The “Save & publish” page has a completeness check that lists what is still missing (cover, title, summary, characters, opening, and so on).
After publishing you can edit it at any time, or unpublish it. Others only see the public parts, and your rulebook and the settings meant only for the AI are never shown to them.
Do creators earn anything?
Yes. When other players use “purchased points” to play your story, part of that comes back to you as story income, credited as points after a waiting period, at different rates for story cards and character cards. You can see the daily breakdown under “My points → Story earnings”.
To keep things fair, playing your own story, trading plays between several accounts, and inflating usage by improper means do not count as income, and violations may lead to suspension or deactivation of the account.
What is a MOD?
A MOD is an add-on you can attach to a story. It contains things like a pre-prompt, a post-prompt, prompts, or Lorebook entries, and changes how the AI writes, for example with more delicate description or a different narrative voice. You can find them in the “MOD Hub”, some free and some priced by their creators.
After you get one, “mount” it on a story for it to take effect. The “MOD” panel on the play screen lets you switch them on and off and reorder them. You can also make your own MOD and share it publicly.
Pictures and video
What is the “AI Director”?
After reading a passage, press “Draw” on that reply. The AI Director reads the scene and offers several picture proposals. You pick one, choose the details (expression, composition, and so on), and it paints the picture for you.
Characters keep the same look by referring to the character images in the story. Reading the scene costs a small number of points (an “AI Director reading voucher” can cover it), and drawing is charged only when it succeeds.
How is drawing charged?
Points are charged only when a picture is drawn successfully, never when it is blocked by moderation and nothing is produced. You can choose a cloud drawing service (Grok, Gemini, or ChatGPT images), charged at the actual cost per picture, or our self-hosted engine, which is a subscriber feature with a daily limit.
The site also has an “AI image area”, where you can write your own description or pick building blocks to draw, and use image-to-image and image-to-video.
How do I make a short video?
Turn a finished picture into a 3 or 5 second short video. You can also make a 1 second preview first for a small number of points, then make the full version if you like it. You are charged only when it succeeds, and you can tick “Add sound when done”.
Short videos are currently a subscriber feature, made on equipment we run ourselves. If you choose a cloud short video, or that equipment is under maintenance or offline, a cloud service makes it instead. They queue, and you are notified by in-app message when one is ready. Subscribers can make clips of up to 15 seconds.
What is an audio drama?
It turns a reply into an audio drama: one voice for the narrator and a voice of their own for each character, with the current line highlighted as it is read.
The player supports playback speed, continuous play, and lock-screen controls, and you can add dramas to your own playlists or download them as mp3. Make one with “🎧 Audio drama” on each reply. Audio dramas are a subscriber feature, charged by word count, and only when they succeed.
Where are my finished pictures, videos, and audio dramas kept?
All in the “Collection”: pictures, short videos, and audio dramas each have a tab. You can filter by story and source, favorite items, organize them into albums, download the originals, and jump back to the exact turn where something was drawn.
Even if the story or playthrough is deleted, what is in your Collection stays.
Account and safety
Can other people see my conversations?
No. Only you can see your conversations; we do not read them. Only the stories, comments, and saves you choose to publish are visible to others.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or use third-party tracking. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How can I keep my account safer?
- Add fingerprint or face login under “Me → Settings”.
- When you change your login email or username, an account with a password must enter the current password again to confirm it is you.
- If you think your account may have been taken over, change your password right away and tell us through “Me → Contact the owner”.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account yourself under “Me → Settings → Sign-in and security”. You need to type the confirmation text (and your password, if the account has one).
After deletion, your stories, conversations, points, comments, and similar data are deleted together (records of others playing your stories disappear too) and cannot be recovered. Usage and order records are kept as accounting records but no longer linked to your personal data. See the Privacy Policy.
Can I set up notifications, music, the check-in popup, and so on?
Yes. Under “Me → Settings” you will find appearance and language (dark, light, and interface language), play (background music, sound on short videos, action options), explore and content (tags you do not want to see, recommendation tastes), notifications (which messages notify you; official notices cannot be turned off), and a block list.
Refunds and support
Can I get a refund?
Digital services are generally non-refundable, with a few exceptions. See the Refund Policy.
For example, within 7 days of a subscription starting, if you have not used any of the self-hosted features and have not spent any of the points sent to you each day, you can request a refund from the subscriber card on the “Me” page. Duplicate charges and payments that were not credited are also handled. Before you pay, the checkout screen asks you to tick that you agree to the Terms of Service and the Refund Policy.
What if I run into a payment problem?
- The payment page will not open or fails: wait a minute or two and try again, or switch to another payment method. The order page also lets you switch to another payment route.
- Paid but not credited: wait a few minutes, then press “I’ve paid — check” on the order page. If it still has not arrived, contact us through “Me → Contact the owner” with your order number.
- We will make it right; if we cannot, we refund you.
How do I reach you with a problem, or report inappropriate content?
After logging in, go to “Me → Contact the owner” and leave a message; we reply by in-app message. You can also see the contact page for the support email and other options.
If you see a story, comment, or post that breaks the Terms of Service, press “Report” beside it, or include the link when you contact us.
